The solution to the Mask Museum mystery
The Mask Museum is a must see in the Cryptovoxels metaverse! It’s a beautifully designed space featuring exhibitions centered around The Hashmasks NFT project. It’s also a place full of opportunities to engage and excite the community.
The Hashmasks community loves a good mystery. The collections’ extensive traits and sub-straits tempt collectors to go down the rabbit hole chasing the unknown. As such, Hashmaskers are not new to sleuthing. With this in mind, I was recently inspired to celebrate the most active Hashmask Discord community members and their collections with a Mask Museum exhibition and a secret puzzle.
The current “Community Matters’’ exhibition features Hashmasks from 27 community members and can be found here. The first step in planning the exhibition was to organize the masks by aesthetic. Once this was done, a layout of each floor was developed and mask positions were assigned.
The show was shared with the community without any signage … yet. I wanted to create a puzzle experience in the museum and decided that a word search using all community member names would be fun. First a new lounge area with a coffee table was added to the museum. Then a newspaper with a link to the puzzle was casually placed on top.
Next, a puzzle had to be made. I decided to go with a word search. An online word search generator was used to create the puzzle from a list of community member names.
Word clues were deliberately not included in order to encourage participants to read the word search, look for familiar Discord members and connect that all the word clues are on the Museum Walls. The following letters would be left over on the top row if you found all twenty seven members: LKOWVEQT. This is the puzzle solution.
Ok, but how would one even know to click on the Newspaper you ask? The biggest clue was in the Discord announcement 😉!
